ED CARPENTER RACING
Up next for Ed Carpenter Racing is the drive over to Lexington, Ohio, home of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, for the Honda Indy 200. This weekend’s race marks the midway point of the season for ECR drivers Conor Daly and Rinus VeeKay and will be the first of five NTT INDYCAR SERIES races in July. Mid-Ohio is also part of a three-race technical partnership between ECR and Paretta Autosport. ECR provides support and personnel for Paretta Autosport’s No. 16, driven by Simona De Silvestro.
CONOR DALY, NO. 20 BITNILE CHEVROLET
CONOR DALY, No. 20 BitNile Chevrolet: “I am very happy to be back on track after a break! Mid-Ohio is a fantastic race course and July 4th weekend is an incredible time to be racing. We’ve had a great season so far and we want to continue our run of solid finishes and scoring good points. Hopefully, we can make it out of Mid-Ohio with a trophy!”
OF NOTE:
• Conor Daly’s first season as full-time driver of ECR’s No. 20 BitNile Chevrolet recently yielded a two-month stretch of solid results. The Month of May featured two events, the first of which was the GMR Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Daly advanced through all rounds of qualifying and started 4th. Battling both wet and dry conditions during the race, he earned a Top 5 finish. Two weeks later, he paced the Indianapolis 500 field for several laps before finishing 6th. Additional strong results followed in Detroit and Road America.
• Daly will be making his seventh start at Mid-Ohio this weekend. In his 2016 debut, he powered to the front of the field, led 22 laps and finished 6th. He followed up that performance with another Top 10 finish in 2017. Upon joining ECR, he qualified 4th for Race 1 of the 2020 Mid-Ohio doubleheader. Last year, Daly gained nine positions over the course of the race.
• BitNile Holdings, Inc. is the primary partner of the No. 20 Chevrolet as part of a multi-year deal. BitNile is a diversified holding company that specializes in disruptive technologies, including cryptocurrency and innovations in the field of Decentralized Finance (“DeFi”). They focus on large-scale crypto mining with energy efficient, powerful operations located in North America and operate their own high-density data center. BitNile invests in technology platforms that provide crypto holders a vehicle to earn interest on their crypto assets.
RINUS VEEKAY, NO. 21 BITCOIN RACING TEAM POWERED BY BITNILE CHEVROLET
RINUS VEEKAY, No. 21 Bitcoin Racing Team Powered By BitNile Chevrolet: “I’m very excited to drive at Mid-Ohio. I think we can have a good weekend, I’ve had pretty good results there in previous years and was able to make some good moves. Ready to get back to where we belong, at the front! I’m also very happy to be back in Bitcoin orange, thanks to BitNile!”
OF NOTE:
• Rinus VeeKay’s third season as an NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver began with a Top 10 finish in three of the first four races this year. At Barber Motorsports Park in early May, he won his second career pole position and earned his first podium of 2022 with a third place. For the second year in a row, he qualified on the front row of the Indianapolis 500 and started third. With his qualifying performance, he was the fastest Chevrolet-powered driver in the 33-car field for the third consecutive year.
• The 2021 edition of the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio marked VeeKay’s return to competition. After being forced to sit out the preceding race at Road America while recovering from surgery on a fractured clavicle, he stepped back into the No. 21 at Mid-Ohio and was able to advance to the second round of qualifying. In his rookie season of 2020, he started 9th and finished 8th in Race 1 of the doubleheader.
• Through the generosity of BitNile Holdings, Inc. (BitNile), ECR’s Bitcoin Racing Team will continue to grow in 2022. VeeKay is back in the No. 21 Bitcoin Racing Team Powered by BitNile Chevrolet, the same design he campaigned in this year’s Indy 500. Any individual who scans the unique QR code on the side of the No. 21 car and completes the registration will receive free Bitcoin from Earnity, a community-based crypto platform of which BitNile is a significant investor.
