SFHR Finishes 2013 on High Note
Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing (SFHR) ended its 2013 season on a high note, spending Dec. 18-19 testing the No. 67 car at Sebring International Raceway.
The two-day closed test was the first time newly promoted Chief Engineer Jeremy Milless and 22-year-old driver Josef Newgarden were able to work together on-track.
“The test in Sebring was a good opportunity to work with all the guys and bring Jeremy (Milless) into a management role,” Newgarden said. “We worked really methodically and well through our test plan and achieved everything we wanted to. It was good to get where we need to be in our program before the holidays so that we can move into the new year and try to build from that.”
SFHR team principal Wink Hartman was pleased to see Newgarden and Milless working well together both on and off track.
“It was great to see the 67 car back on track,” Hartman said. “Seeing the team working well together, and both Jeremy (Milless) and Josef (Newgarden) starting to click was a tremendous way to cap the 2013 season. We are looking forward to the continued progress throughout the offseason. And leaving Sebring, we were proud to be at the top of the charts as we move into 2014.”
SFHR will make its way back to Sebring, Fla. for two more days of closed testing Feb. 3-4. The team will also take part in an open test at Barber Motorsports Park on March 17-18, before opening the 2014 IndyCar schedule on the Streets of St. Petersburg on March 30.
